Gynecomastia surgery | Male Breast Surgery in Delhi

Gynecomastia is a medical term that comes from the Greek words "woman like breast".
While this is not often talked about, gynecology is more common than you might think, affecting an estimated 40 to 60 percent of men. In some men, it affects both breasts, in some only one.

Some medications and medical problems have been linked to Male Breast Surgery in Delhi overgrowth, but in most cases, there is no known cause.

If you have underdeveloped breasts and feel self-conscious about the appearance of your chest, a recently developed surgical technique called the tumescent method liposuction can fix the problem. Liposuction is an effective tool to permanently remove these localized excess fatty tissues and can restore a slimmer, more masculine chest contour.

Deciding whether surgery is right for you
The ideal candidate for liposuction is a healthy man with localized areas of fat deposits in the breast area that is proportionate to the rest of the chest.

  • If you are obese or overweight, you will be advised to try to correct the problem with weight loss before considering surgery.
  • Men who drink more alcohol or smoke are generally not considered good candidates for surgery.

Preparing For His Surgery
Upon initial consultation, your surgeon will take a complete medical history. Your surgeon needs to know about your medical background, so please provide all the information you can.

If you decide to proceed with treatment, your surgeon will give you specific instructions, including guidelines on eating, drinking, and taking certain vitamins and medicines.

Because smoking reduces circulation and interferes with proper therapy, you will also instruct the surgeon that you stop smoking for at least one to two weeks before your surgery and during your recovery.

Understand the Process
Liposuction for Gynecomastia surgery in Delhi can be performed under general or local anesthesia. Your surgeon will see before the operation to answer any questions you have and to draw some reference lines on slated areas for liposuction.

  • If your procedure is being performed under local anesthesia, you will be given antibiotics and sedative pills before starting and a small needle will be placed in one of your veins to make you unconscious.
  • If your surgery is being performed under a general anesthetic, you will go directly to the operation theater when your surgeon has spoken with you.

In the theater, your skin will be cleaned with iodine and you will receive an injection of local anesthetic, after which several small (2-3 mm) incisions are made into the skin. The anesthetic and the substance that helps prevent the solution will be injected into the fat through these incisions.

Once the area is completely numb, the fat is removed using a fine needle, called a cannula, which is connected by tubing to a strong suction machine.

  • If your liposuction is being performed under local anesthesia, you will be asked to change the condition periodically so that the surgeon has better access to fat deposits. You will also be asked to stand several times so that the progress of the process can be assessed.
  • When the process is over, an absorbent pad and a pressure garment will be applied and you will be taken to your room.
